What would you buy if you had $300,000 in you pocket?
Let’s see, you could score a A five-bedroom French-Norman house with three and a half bathrooms in Cleveland. Or perhaps you might go old school and pick up a all original 1964 Aston Martin DB5 that has been in a barn for 35 years. If you like the idea of spending some time on the water you could easily pick up a 56' Mikelson Convertible Sportfish Yacht. Sure, that sounds nice. Or…. You could just pick up a Beatles signed Sgt. Peppers album cover.
Sounds a little steep right?
There isn’t a drummer alive who hasn’t played on the hard work of Robert “RZ” Zildjian, head of the Sabian Cymbal Company. Today, the Sabian website announced the passing of Robert Zildjian. He was 90 years old.
Wait, your saying “Wasn’t he the head of Zildjian?”
Easy confusion.
You see Robert and his brother Armand were the sons of Avedis Zildjian III, the head of the Avedis Zildjian Company. Allegedly, tradition had it that the father would only hand down the family secrets to the older son. Avedis handed the secrets down to both sons.
I’ve said it a million times and believe it to be true; a man can take over the world with a sweet Gibson Les Paul and a warm Marshall stack. Plenty of great players rely on their beloved Gibson Les Pauls like they would their fingers, and Mr. Joe Perry from Aerosmith is no exception. Now, Gibson has released a recreation of Joe Perry’s amazing 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard.
Every industry has its smells and sounds, and certainly the music industry does as well, and to me there is nothing like the smell of my tube amplifiers warming up. It smells… like… like victory.
Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousands of miles and all the years you have lived. - Helen Keller
